
Inspired by cinematic forms as well as mythological and folkloric story structures, she uses sound and silence as intuitive gestures to tell a wordless story, with sweeping landscapes, quiet romances, patterned tensions and dream sequences. Kanaan focuses on bringing an earthy, visceral touch to electronic music – an appreciation for the vulnerability of human limitations and nuances in symbiosis with technology.
In late 2020, Fire Records released Faten Kanaan's fourth full-length, A Mythology of Circles. The Quietus praised the »wondrously strange record, full of hidden nuances,« and Gorilla vs. Bear named it as one of their top albums of the year, while the BBC invited Kanaan to contribute a guest playlist to Radio 6 Music.
