The interdisciplinary artist has a background in creative computing and classical music, both of which shape her compositions and live performance: live sampling and vocal manipulation are key elements in her immersive sonic creations.

Badr released the third full-length FRKTL album in July 2020, showing the evolution of her experimental tendencies thus far. In applying her background in sound design to music production, Excision After Love Collapses reveals a penchant for broken beats, cascading noise, and sonic suspense. The album was featured on Bandcamp Daily, who highlighted some of its best cuts: »›Eigenspace‹ is epic in both length and breadth, while the gilded ›Peak Experience‹ exemplifies the Cairene producer’s deliberately expansive approach.« The Wire selected the track »Dread Aversion« for their compilation series, Below the Radar.
