
After finishing his studies of music education and musicology he worked as an editor and ran a music production company in Hamburg. His fields of expertise include empirical research on music, creativity, and education. He published on digital music production, different musical genres, popular musical cultures, or musical interfaces. Recent publications include co-edited volumes on German popular music (Perspectives on German Popular Music, Routledge 2017), Big Data and Music (Springer, 2018) or Music and Empowerment (Springer, 2020).
