As directors and artists, the crew of two work with video and 3D animation, immersive installations and VR environments, where HD and pixelation can live in harmony. With a trans-humanist ethos, Pussykrew traverse the spaces between physical and digital realms, making the familiar alien and vice versa, using evolving identities and surreal surroundings. In explaining their output to Fader, they say: »A lot of it has to do with a complex idea of a destruction, apocalypse or post-apocalypse. On the other hand, there’s this utopian universe where man, nature, and machine are united. What we try to do is to subjugate decay. We aestheticize destruction in search of a temporary state that would allow us to overcome the feeling of loss.«
The duo have collaborated with brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Burberry and with musicians such as Oyinda, Peaches, Sevdaliza, and Kelela. Most recently, Unsound commissioned Pussykrew to team up with 700 Bliss (Moor Mother and DJ Haram) to develop an audio-visual online journey for the festival's 2020 edition. Tikul and mi$gogo each grew up in Poland but first met while they were living in Ireland. Now with footing in NYC, the nomadic Pussykrew have called numerous international cities their home, from Berlin to Shanghai.
