Seeking to aurally express the junction of technology, video games, and art by using the theoretical frameworks of polystylism, spirituality, and esoterics, Wienecke reaches into the depths of the modern-day with older, almost forgotten cultural lenses. Creating balanced soundscapes that fluctuate between our day’s chaos and the distant, hypnotic cries of nature; his similarobjects moniker is a constant effort to unite the now with an imagined spiritual past.
Wienecke is one of the founders of BuwanBuwan Collective, an electronic artist community and record label focused on cultivating the Philippine beatmaker scene and its intersections and is also a co-founder of the Manila-based decentralised community radio initiative called Manila Community Radio. On top of this, he is also one of the co-founders of Club Matryoshka, a Philippines-based but international virtual venue hosted in Minecraft established to enable a diverse and experimental set of artists to perform in a decolonized space that platforms and focuses on performers with non-white, LGBTQIA+, female, and neurodivergent majority lineups.
He teaches electronic music as part of the AB-Music Production Program at De LaSalle College of Saint Benilde, and has founded his own electronic music school called Cosmic Sonic Arts, where he fosters a spiritual, meditative, and introspective approach to creating music.
