Janvin is best known for her singular work exploring the interface of organic/inorganic sounds through extended vocal techniques, as heard on the album Fake Synthetic Music (PAN, 2019). In creating the album, she thoroughly explored ways to »detach« herself from her own voice without use of electronic processing or equipment, in order to see how far the voice can be disconnected from its human connotations.

Her project Native Instrument, created together with field recordist Felicity Magnan, sees Janvin exploring vocal limits in a different way, creating electronic and vocal adaptations of animal and insect recordings originating mainly from the Australian and North European fauna.

Janvin's recent work is focused on imitation and abstract storytelling through sound collages referring to a variety of genres and traditions of electronic music, sound poetry, club and folk music. In 2020 she premiered her newest work, »SOLD (a dog and pony show)« after a two-week creation period that saw her work with 12 volunteer dancers, from children to retirees. The project, which navigates personal branding and online identity, was subsequently adapted into digital versions that can be toured during lockdown. A special attempt to translate a »live« feeling of performance into these versions highlights Janvin’s current interest in the nature and importance of collective experience.

Janvin has collaborated with artists such as Holly Herndon, Catherine Lamb, and Adam Linder, and has toured extensively throughout Europe including performances at INA-GRM, Paris; The Long Now, Berlin; Elevate, Graz; CTM Festival, Berlin; Issue Project Room, NYC; Unsound Festival, Krakow; Terraforma, Milan; and many more.
