ZULI is best known locally for his work in the hip hop scene, particularly with rapper Abyusif, but also in the electronic music scene as part of the collective Kairo Ist Koming (KIK). Internationally, he's known for his releases on Lee Gamble’s imprint UIQ – including his debut LP Terminal – as well as the Trigger Finger EP on Haunter Records, as well as support from the leagues of Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Richie Hawtin. The artist was also the winner of the 2018 Radio Lab commission by CTM and Deutschlandfunk Kultur, presenting diverse vignettes of life in Cairo in 360-degree videos accompanied by original compositions.

Besides his work as a producer, ZULI co-founded Cairo’s alternative music venue and club, VENT, with Asem Tag aka ($$$TAG), which subsequently transformed into a club night and festival.
