She received her Ph.D. in theatre studies from the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. She received her M.A. from the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Arts in Warsaw in 2011, where she lectured in 2012-2018, until moving to teach at the Faculty of the Dance Theatre at the Stanisław Wyspiański National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków. She was part of the Enabling Wayang to Contribute to Environmental Discourse research team in 2019-2020 (Royal Holloway, University of London and Institut Seni Indonesia, Yogyakarta), and she has been working in collaboration with Indonesian performing artists since 2010. In 2010-11 she studied at the Puppetry Department in the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Surakarta with a Darmasiswa scholarship and she has played gamelan and performed as dalang (puppeteer) with Warsaw Gamelan Group since 2012. In 2019 she published a book titled Wayang. Javanese Shadow Puppet Theatre. She is also a widely published theatre and music critic.
