The virtual visits are conducted by local friends and colleagues within CTM’s extended network. Bringing with them their own set of knowledge, interests, and languages, each person joins you for the encounter rather like a new festival companion than a formal tour guide, discovering the artworks with you. Through intimate sessions, the Virtual Visits aim to foster an exchange of experiences, and to offer a glimpse of several CTM events at a time when more people than ever might not be able to make it in person.
Virtual visits are available for the following CTM 2022 events:
- Performative installation: »Modular Organ System« by Philip Sollmann and Konrad Sprenger, in collaboration with singuhr – projekte berlin
- Multichannel audiovisual Installation: »Incantations« by Andrius Arutiunian
- CTM 2022 Exhibition »Connected Alienation / Vernetzte Entfremdung« with works by Ale Hop, Ali Eslami & Mamali Shafahi, Dana Gingras / Animals of Distinction, Hugo Esquinca, Ibrahim Quraishi and related audiovisual installations »Connected Alienation – Bonus Tracks« with works by Collo Awata & Madam Data, Gaspar Cohen, pantea & u-matic & telematique
- Multichannel audiovisual installation: »O Que Não Está / What is Not« by Fronte Violeta with Martha Kiss Perrone and collaborators Kay Sara and Juçara Marçal
What Will I Experience?
Your virtual visit host is equipped with a camera, microphone, and headset in order to communicate with you and show you the artworks and the venue/space. The idea is that you get as close as possible to experiencing what you might see and hear in-person. You can ask the host to move around or focus on specific parts of the artwork and space. As there are clear technological limitations to the visits, the host will also share their perception and experience of the space. Due to the visit’s limited time, you may not be able to visit all works that are presented within the CTM 2022 Exhibition »Connected Alienation / Vernetzte Entfremdung.« You can however ask the host to focus on specific artworks.
How Does it Work?
The sessions take place in zoom and are accessed by specific 45 minute long timeslots, which must be purchased in advance. It is possible for two people to book slots separately, and yet attend the same slot, or you can book one slot together with a friend.
You will receive confirmation upon purchase, including a link to the Zoom session. If multiple languages were offered for your time slot, please inform your guide of your preferred language at the start of the visit. You can ask your guide to use the chat function instead of speaking. We recommend wearing headphones to ensure maximum quality of your experience.
If you have more questions about the virtual visits please write to us at accessibility@ctm-festival.de.
