Sheja Cheryl started over ten years ago as a neo-soul singer, collaborating with different bands and musicians in her hometown of Kigali, as well as with touring artists and performers. Now a self-taught producer, specifically exploring experimental, electronic, and deep techno, her love of spiritual drum patterns also led to her work as a DJ. She is also a member of Disco Titties.

She is currently experimenting with visual art, and has directed three audiovisual works, one which she exhibited in her very first solo exhibition at Novembre Numérique. In 2021, the movie in which she is the lead actress, Neptune Frost, debuted at Festival de Cannes in France and continued its journey in different film festivals such as the Toronto Film festival, New York Film Festival, Sundance, and Miami Film Festiva,l, to name a few. Her role also won her the Prix Agnes award in the Festival international du film francophone de Namur.
