Hailing from South Sudan and now entrenched in Kampala's vibrant club scene, she sees the dancefloor as a battleground, a space resonating with the tension between oppression and liberation. Weaving together left-field electronics, hard dance, techno, and myriad underground sounds with a bold yet graceful flair, Turkana’s sets are as energising as they are surprising. Beyond Nyege Nyege, she’s actively involved locally with 4manysisters, a women's DJ collective, and contributes to the queer-feminist event series Anti-Mass.
