As co-founder of the Unguarded imprint, DJ and producer Philipp Hülsenbeck loves to bring to the fore unusual minds thinking outside techno’s 4x4 box. His own works reflect this ethos, fusing twisted vocal samples with askew percussive and electro-acoustic elements, with releases on TraTraTrax, Altin Village & Mine and his own Unguarded imprint. The concerts he curates consistently bring together some of the finest in Berlin and out — Sin Maldita, bela, Dis Fig, and Petra Hermanova among many more. His recent debut album Vapors Unfold is the strongest showing of his misfit ethos yet, glistening genres flowing between each other beautifully.
