Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have no physical Festival Office in place for our 2021 festival edition. Should you need to contact us, please use our general contact email. During festival days, we also offer a dedicated hotline. Journalists and members of the press are welcome to contact the CTM Press Office.

At the core of CTM is a desire to bring together people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, cultures, and identities. The festival takes shape every year as different lifestyles, interests, and ideas converge. A balanced, wide-ranging, and inclusive lineup is a crucial, yet constantly evolving, part of our approach.

As awareness and conversations develop, we consistently work towards making our festival as inclusive and safe as possible. This extends to people of all genders, races, ages, abilities, classes, and all other groups that often go unmentioned. We urge everyone to be considerate of others; all attendees contribute to the culture and atmosphere of the festival, and we ask everyone to consider the ways in which they participate, and the energy that they bring.

At CTM, we have a ZERO tolerance policy towards discrimination, harassment, and abuse in any form. We are always working to come up with measures we can take to ensure that our artists and attendees feel safe and welcome. That doesn’t mean we always get it right, but we do our best to make sure we learn from any feedback, incidents, or mistakes to make sure they will not happen again.

Most CTM 2021 events will take place online. We ask that people be aware and respectful of online conduct, in the same way you would be at in-person events. For online club and exhibition events, we have a dedicated team that will respond to emails: wesupportyou[at]ctm-festival.de.

Special consideration should also be taken in online events, including reflecting on our own speaking behaviour in group discussions; dominant speaking behaviour can make other participants feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. This includes:

  • long, complacent monologues,
  • (repeated) interruption of others,
  • interim comments,
  • discriminatory language, and
  • »silent« communication patterns which do not directly attack others verbally, but nevertheless secure one's own privileged position in a discussion (one example: mansplaining).

We encourage participants joining small, intimate workshops and closed sessions to turn their camera on in order to help create an open and comfortable atmosphere for the group. Using your real name when registering for the various tools contributes to a more personal and transparent atmosphere within the group. If you like, add the pronoun you are using to your name. Keeping your microphone muted when not speaking is generally good practice to ensure good sound quality in the session.

We are also proud to stand alongside a number of other cultural institutions, artists, and organisers as part of DIE VIELEN. The Germany-wide project aims to strengthen ties between those involved in the arts, uniting many in supporting and working towards an equal, inclusive, and open society.

The CTM team is grateful to participate in these crucial conversations. If you have any suggestions on how we could improve, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

For general feedback, or to report harassment or complaints, please email wesupportyou[at]ctm-festival.de.

We have a dedicated contact person for those with questions about visiting CTM Festival. This person can provide information about online events, programme details relating to volume, lighting effects (stroboscope), or any other condition that could affect sensitive individuals. We also offer additional technical support via the CTM Discord chat server, where our team can help you navigate technical questions. Please get in touch via Discord, or contact us at accessibility@ctm-festival.de.
