Collaborations between German and African Artists

Afropollination x CTM

A notable presence of new collaborations between African and German artists will be presented at CTM 2023, under the Afropollination umbrella. Performances throughout the festival's club nights and concerts, as well as several workshops will take place.

The Ghosts Are Returning

A musical story by GROUP50:50 of seven pygmy skeletons brought to Geneva from Congo in the 1950s, which asks if their descendants want the skeletons and spirits of their ancestors back in the first place? Because what is rarely considered in the debate about restitution is that returning masks, skulls, and skeletons also brings back the spirits that Europeans stole and locked away during the colonial era.

Goethe-Institute in Exile

A programme at ACUD highlghts Iranian and Ukrainian artists. Formats range from a multi-day exhibition, a workshop, a poetry reading and listening session, concerts, and more.

Daily Radio Shows and Club Night

Refuge Worldwide x CTM

Daily radio shows with CTM festival artists, a workshop at Refuge's studio, and a dedicated dancefloor within CTM's club programme will feature a range of sounds and voices from Berlin's local community and beyond.

Vorspiel is an initiative by transmediale and CTM Festival that aims to showcase the richness and diversity of Berlin's independent project spaces and artist initiatives active in music and sound, visual and media arts, as well as connected hybrid fields. Uniting a large number of local initiatives this year, the programme will run parallel to both festivals.
