Ableton Workshop

Transform and Mutate Audio to the Max

As part of CTM 2021, Ableton Certified Trainer Peter Trimbacher will demystify how time stretching has been implemented into Ableton's Warping engine. The workshop will take place on two separate dates and is limited to 20 people per session. Free with pre-registration, first-come-first-served.

Collective Artistic Experimentation

MusicMakers Hacklab 2021

For the 2021 Hacklab, we invite artists from anywhere with an internet connection to work together remotely to explore new means of collaboration and performance over distances. As in past years, the Hacklab will proceed as usual for an intensive six-day programme, followed by a performance presentation in the festival on the seventh day. Solutions to dealing with distance might be technologically simple or intense.

Commissioned Works

CTM Radio Lab 2021

Now in its sixth year, the CTM Radio Lab commissions artists to create new work at the intersection of live performance, installation and radio art while also considering CTM's yearly theme. Three winning projects have been selected from 2021 open call, and will premiere at the festival in January.

Speculative Exercises in Transformation

Rethinking Music Ecosystems

For CTM 2021, our ongoing Rethinking Music Ecosystems thread takes the form of speculative exercises in »Transformation.« A series of guided collaborative workshops with hosts DeForrest Brown, Jr., Jay Jordan and Jack Jordan, Michelle Lhooq, and Taeyoon Choi encourage experiments to respond to specific crises and flaws affecting those active in music today.

Workshops from Artists to Artists

A2A Transmission

A new CTM initiative, A2A Transmission kicks-off our 22nd edition with a series of six online workshops for artists by artists. The programme aims to help sound practitioners expand their skill sets and practices at a time when touring and in-person performance opportunities are greatly reduced.
