At the core of CTM is a desire to bring together people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, cultures, and identities. The festival takes shape every year as different lifestyles, interests, and ideas converge. A balanced, wide-ranging, and inclusive lineup is a crucial, yet constantly evolving, part of our approach.
As awareness and conversations develop, we consistently work towards making our festival as welcome and safe as possible. This extends to people of all genders, races, ages, abilities, classes, and all other groups that often go unmentioned. We urge everyone to be considerate of others; all attendees contribute to the culture and atmosphere of the festival, and we ask everyone to consider the ways in which they participate, and the energy that they bring.
At CTM, we have a ZERO tolerance policy towards discrimination, harassment, and abuse in any form. We are always working to come up with measures we can take to ensure that our artists and attendees feel safe and welcome. That doesn’t mean we always get it right, but we do our best to make sure we learn from any feedback, incidents, or mistakes to make sure they will not happen again. If you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation at any festival event, please approach venue bar or security staff. We also have a designated contact person at most CTM 2022 club events, who you can contact in case you feel uncomfortable or unsafe. They’ll be wearing bright fuschia/pink t-shirts with the words »Take Care of Each Other,« and will be at the following venues: Berghain / Panorama Bar / Säule, Festsaal Kreuzberg, and SchwuZ. You can also email us at wesupportyou[at]ctm-festival.de to report incidents afterwards.
Some CTM 2022 events will also take place online. We ask that people be aware and respectful of online conduct, in the same way you would be at in-person events. Special consideration should also be taken in online events, including reflecting on our own speaking behaviour in group discussions. Please also note that humour can be interpreted very differently in online chat contexts; use sarcasm with care.
We are also proud to stand alongside a number of other cultural institutions, artists, and organisers as part of DIE VIELEN. The Germany-wide project aims to strengthen ties between those involved in the arts, uniting many in supporting and working towards an equal, inclusive, and open society.
The CTM team is grateful to participate in these crucial conversations. If you have any suggestions on how we could improve, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
For general feedback, or to report harassment or complaints, please email us.
